Considering studies at university? CSU offers you a range of admission options to help you get into our courses.
To be admitted to Charles Sturt University, prospective students need to indicate their likelihood of success in their chosen course. Applications are assessed on previous studies and/or other attainments and experience.
If you're applying as a non-school leaver, you may also be admitted to a course based on other attainments and experience that provide evidence of motivation to succeed at university study. You will be asked to submit documentary evidence of relevant achievements and experience that may demonstrate your potential.
If you're considering studying at university, it's important to be aware of assumed knowledge and extra criteria for courses:
Assumed knowledge refers to subjects that the University recommends you undertake prior to starting the course. You may be able to complete these subjects throughout the duration of your course.
Extra criteria is an additional activity that needs to be completed to gain entry into the course such as an essay, questionnaire, portfolio, audition or interview. Read the online course brochure for more detail.

Applicants who believe they have experienced circumstances that have resulted in educational disadvantage may apply for special consideration under the University's Special Consideration for Admission scheme.

If you have previously been offered a place at a university, you are ineligible to apply for special consideration. An applicant who does not otherwise meet the University's requirements may be admitted on the recommendation of the Dean of the appropriate Faculty.
Applications by Australian residents studying by distance education are made directly to the University, not UAC or VTAC.
