What do I need to bring?
All rooms have single study/bedrooms with shared common facilities (i.e. kitchenettes, bathrooms and common rooms). The bedroom is furnished with a single bed, study desk, chair and wardrobe. Bed linen, pillow, blanket, bedspread/doona, towel and soap are also provided. You may consider bringing your own travel alarm clock, desk lamp, clothes hangers and an umbrella during wet weather seasons (when walking around campus).
How do I travel to campus?

Are phones and internet available?
You can make phone calls from your room by purchasing a Charles Sturt University compliant phonecard from the Mini-Mart on-campus.

You will be able to access the internet from your room or on campus through the CSU Network (WiFi or Ethernet).
What if I have a disability?
Distance Education students with a disability, attending a Residential School and requiring a personal carer to accompany them, will be accommodated by the Student Services Office. There will be no charge for accommodating the carer, however meals will be required to be purchased from the dining hall, providing that the student has registered their need for a carer with the Disability Liaison Officer prior to their attendance at the Residential School. Please submit an online enquiry to Student Central reporting accommodation as a carer, for whom and what dates.

If you require wheelchair access, please indicate this on your booking form.
Can I bring family / children?
Please be aware, we have a limited capacity to accommodate families due to the single study/bedroom style accommodation available.

Bathurst Campus
Students who wish to make a Family Booking at the Bathurst campus are advised to contact the motel located on-campus, Centre for Professional Development (CPD).

Wagga Wagga Campus
All accommodation provided is of a single study/bedroom style. Students who wish to bring their partner and/or children are required to book individual rooms for each member of the age of 13 and over.

Children aged 12 and under may be accommodated in a fold out bed or cot in the same room as a parent. No extra cost will be charged for accommodating a child with a parent in the same room, although meals for the child will need to be purchased from the Dining Room.

You must also complete the booking form for each indiviual room required, you are asked to submit an online enquiry to Student Central including your name, student ID number, number of people, ages of children (12 and under), dates for the nights you require accommodation and the campus you will be staying. For children under 12, please also indicate if a fold out bed or cot and linen will be required.

Meals

Self-Catered - Dubbo
Only self-catered accommodation is available at Dubbo. This allows you to cook your own meals in the accommodation area. All self-catered areas have kitchens but you will need to bring any item with which you would like to prepare food, cook and eat with. eg. plates, cutlery, cups, saucepan, frypan, utensils etc.
Catered - Bathurst, Orange, Wagga
Residential School accommodation entitles you to 26.25 Meal Points each day. These points are credited to your CSU Student Card and you must have this card to claim any Meal Points at campus food outlets or normal purchase charges will apply. Meal Points can be spent in any combination and are not restricted to pre-ordained meal packages. If in doubt, the Residence Life staff can point you in the right direction for good food when you check-in.
When is the dining room open?
Check with residences staff when you check in.
What if I am bringing children?
Students bringing children with them to residential school may negotiate child meal payments with the Catering Manager on arrival.
What if I have a special diet?
CSU Catering Department can provide menu options that cater to most medical and cultural needs, including the following:
  • Coeliac/Gluten free
  • Lactose intolerance
  • Vegetarian
  • Diabetic
  • Vegan
  • Halal
If you require any of these special diets during your stay, please indicate this on the accommodation booking form. If you have other dietary requirements that are not listed on the booking form, please email the appropriate campus Catering contact listed on the Meal Plan Brochure [PDF] with your name, contact number, student ID number, campus of stay, the dates you have booked and the details of your dietary requirements.
Is Coffee / Tea provided?
Tea, coffee, milk and sugar will be provided in your room. Polystyrene cups are supplied but you may wish to bring your own coffee mug. Cafes are also available on most campuses where you can purchase hot and cold drinks.

How much is Residential School accommodation?

When and where do I pay?
Payment can be made through CSU Finance, usually Online, by BPay or at the campus cashier in person. Payment should be made prior to your arrival online OR on the day of arrival at the cashier.
Is there financial assistance available to attend res school?
Yes - the Residential School Equity Grant provides financial assistance to help cover the cost of staying on or near the campus for compulsary residential schools.
Can I book additional nights?

If requiring additional night/s that are not listed on the online booking form, please forward an online enquiry to Student Central with details - including name, student ID number and dates.

If you require additional nights that are listed on the online booking form, please refer to the alteration of a booking information.

Arrival and departure

Where and when can I check in?
Bathurst 2pm - 9pm at the Residence Life Office (Building C4)
Dubbo 2pm - 6pm at the Residence Life Office (in the Sport & Rec Centre)
Orange 2pm - 9pm at the Student Central counter (Building 1005)
Wagga Wagga 2pm - 11pm at the Residence Life Office (Building 460)
When do I need to check out by?
Check out must occur and keys must be returned prior to 9:00am. Luggage can be stored at the key return location until the completion of your days commitments. Failure to vacate your room by 9:00am will result in an additional accommodation charge of one night being applied to your account
