How is it billed?
At the end of each month, iPass issues CSU with a detailed account of each user, their access and charges. DIT will then on-forward these charges to the schools / faculties / divisions communications accounts.
Important Note
As costs are incurred using this facility, you should ensure your budget manager agrees you may use this facility, otherwise you may be personally liable for any charges generated.
First Cost - the cost of the phone call to dial a provider.
As with all normal internet connections, you will be charged for a connection to the iPass service provider from whichever city (location) you are dialling. Please be aware that some hotels / motels may charge higher than normal call costs. Please check with the reception upon arrival. For example, using iPass from home to a local ISP, you would need to make a phone call. This cost, usually around 25c, gets added to you home phone bill.
Second Cost - The CSU Administration charge.
A $1.00 per connection administration charge will be charged each time a successful connection is made. This will enable CSU to cover the internal infrastructure cost.
Third Cost - the hourly connection charge for the iPass service.
This is dependant upon the country from which you are dialling, for example within Australia the connection charge is currently $1.10 per hour.
* Toll Free calls are charged at the applicable hourly rate. The Toll Free numbers are provided as some countries\states charge for timed local calls. It may be cheaper for you to pay the flat hourly rate than for a timed local call.
