Associate Professor Marian Tulloch took up the position as Director, Centre for Enhancing Learning and Teaching in October 2003. Prior to this she spent seven years as Head of the School of Social Sciences and Liberal Studies at CSU. Marian has a Master of Education (Honours) and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of New England. Her publications and conference presentations have stretched across education and the social sciences. She has an ongoing research interest in the interrelation of quantitative and qualitative methodologies in studying substantive educational and social issues.

Philip has university-wide responsiblity for evaluating new educational technologies in terms of their impact on learning and teaching. He plays a leading role in adoption and implementation of new technologies and methods. He further leads and manages a team of educational designers based at the Bathurst and Goulburn campuses of the University.
He has internationally lead the strategic analyses and implementation of learning technologies, in particular eLearning, in higher education both in developing and developed settings on institutional and national level. He completed a PhD in 2000 at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand that dealt with the key management issues in higher education regarding the implementation and operations of modern learning technologies. Derek has been the Manager of the Evaluation Unit for Charles Sturt University since December 1994. His main roles and responsibilities are to:
- manage and administer the University’s Online Evaluation of Subjects (OES) system as well as the online Student Experience Questionnaire (SEQ) system;
- administer the Carrick Awards and the University Awards for Teaching Excellence;
- assist academic staff with validated documentation for their Promotion and Probationary Review applications; and
- provide for and assist in Evaluation-related academic staff development.
Beside the work Derek now does, he has over 20 years of university teaching and has served as a Consultant and Trainer in the area of Communication and Motivation to manufacturing, pharmaceutical and service industries; many from the first two groups being multinational, for instance, GEC, Asean Brown Boveri, Pfizer and Sandoz.
