The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is responsible for the delivery of an integrated and efficient University administration and assists the Vice-Chancellor generally in the administration, management and leadership of the University.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is a member of the Senior Executive Committee of the University, consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, and Executive Directors of the Divisions of Financial Services and Human Resources.
Specific responsibilities of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) include deputising for the Vice-Chancellor as required; providing effective coordination and supervision of the administrative, financial and other activities of assigned portfolios, including determination of priorities, the efficient allocation of resources and the implementation of quality assurance processes; leading the physical and technological development of the University; and leading organisational change and development in the support areas of the University in pursuit of the University's objectives.
Profile
Professor Dillon has worked for CSU for 25 years and has held senior positions across four different Faculties. He has always been passionate about student experience leading to success and takes great pride in the achievements of CSU students and the role the University's graduates play in making a difference regionally, nationally and internationally. "Every student has the capacity to make a difference, not only in their personal lives and in their communities but in the quality and breadth of the contributions they make to their chosen professions and to society more generally". As part of supporting students to do their best, Professor Dillon's responsibilities include oversight of several administrative Divisions which focus on excellent student support and the provision of a range of key services to University staff.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a central value at Charles Sturt University. CSU is committed to improving its practices in resource use and to developing an institutional culture of sustainability.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is responsible for progress in relation to many of the sustainability targets of the University. This work is particularly implemented through the Division of Facilities Management and the CSU Green office, which acts as a hub of communication and coordination for CSU's sustainability efforts.
