The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is responsible for the delivery of an integrated and efficient University administration and assists the Vice-Chancellor generally in the administration, management and leadership of the University.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is a member of the Senior Executive Committee of the University, consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, and Executive Directors of the Divisions of Financial Services and Human Resources.
Specific responsibilities of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) include deputising for the Vice-Chancellor as required; providing effective coordination and supervision of the administrative, financial and other activities of assigned portfolios, including determination of priorities, the efficient allocation of resources and the implementation of quality assurance processes; leading the physical and technological development of the University; and leading organisational change and development in the support areas of the University in pursuit of the University's objectives.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) represents the University in DVC/PVC (International) activities within the higher education sector.
The DVC (Administration) is responsible for the institutional coordination and policy for international marketing, admissions and student support. The DVC (Administration) is also responsible for the contractual management, including negotiation, of onshore and offshore delivery programs and holds portfolio responsibility for the Office of International Relations. The CSU Ontario Management Group which is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Ontario campus is chaired by the DVC (Administration).
Sustainability is a central value at Charles Sturt University. CSU is committed to improving its practices in resource use and to developing an institutional culture of sustainability.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) is responsible for progress in relation to many of the sustainability targets of the University. This work is particularly implemented through the Division of Facilities Management and through the newly created (2008) CSU Green office, which acts as a hub of communication and coordination for CSU’s sustainability efforts. Additionally, the Sustainability Program Committee is a subcommittee of the Institutional Development Committee (chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) ) which has responsibility for implementing the sustainability objectives set out in the Institutional Development Plan 2007-2011.
