Debra is a talented administrator with more than 30 years' experience in the education sector. For most of her career she has worked in Australian universities, including 12 years at Charles Darwin University (CDU), a dual sector institution and 11 years at the University of New South Wales.
At CDU Debra held positions of Director Student Services (2004-2010), Executive Director Corporate Services (2010-2014) and Chief Operating Officer (2014-2016). In 2008 Debra was awarded the Northern Territory's Chief Minister's Award for Manager of the Year (Public Sector) for her work as Director, Student Services.
In 2016, Debra commenced at CSU in the DVC Administration portfolio. Based primarily in the Division of Student Administration, she managed the period of change for the Division.
Since February 2017, Debra has been a consultant at Curtin University establishing a university wide project on resource optimisation.
Debra is committed to continuous process improvement and is dedicated to ensuring teams deliver quality services to staff and students by "doing the simple things well".
Her focus has always centered on the student experience and as an educator understands the precision required in academic administration.
