Information Architecture
Identifies CSU enterprise Master Data and facilitates the appropriate governance and management of this data which supports the strategic direction and the operational activities of the University.
Covers:
- The lifecycle management of the Master Data catalogue
- To identify and extend Master Data definitions
- To provide access and advice on available Master Data
- Give strategic advice and promotion of enterprise Master Data
- To advocate good governance and information lifecycle management
- To facilitate development and implementation of enterprise architecture assets
Master Data: All CSU data is enterprise data. Master Data is the subset of
enterprise data which is shared.
Master Data Catalogue: The enterprise collection of available master data
(shared data) electronically accessible via CSU integration standards.
Lifecycle Management: Comprises the policies, processes, practices, and
tools used to align the business value of information with the most appropriate and cost
effective IT infrastructure from the time information is conceived through to its final disposition.
Project Portfolio Coordinator
Creating and maintaining information around the Initiatives and Strategy Implementation Plan (ISIP). Responsible for ensuring appropriate funding and budgeting requirements are met.
Covers:
- Maintenance, analysis and reporting on project expenditure
- Ensuring appropriate allocation of funding through liaison with Division of Finance
- Maintenance and control of the Initiatives Handling Process ensuring smooth transitions between stakeholders
- Liaison and education with Project Managers ensuring correct procedures and policies around procurement are followed
- Analyse, identify and report on projects at risk
- Recovery of resource costs allocated against projects
Resource Analyst
Creating and maintaining information, models and reports to assist in the analysis and assessment of demands for IT resources in enterprise-wide initiatives.
Covers:
- The creation and maintenance of information in the Initiatives Advisory Process, Web Resource, Web TimeSheet and ISIP
- To assess and report on the demands of IT resources for projects and service delivery
- Arrive at solutions to overcome resource restraints
Business Analyst
Liaise among stakeholders in order to understand enterprise structure, policies and operational requirements. “Define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals or objectives” (BABOK v2). Improve the level of execution of business processes within the University by .
- identifying current process inefficiencies and problems,
- determining requirements for change,
- identifying and assessing potential solutions,
- ensuring the selected solution is implemented smoothly and effectively into the business.
Applications Architecture
Is the development of enterprise-wide application models and strategic advice for the improvements to the architecture and the establishment of the technical standards applying to the applications environment.
Covers:
- The applications that CSU have
- Which business areas and processes our applications support
- The technologies and methodologies used to build and deliver applications
- Who the stakeholders are
- What the inter dependencies are
- How all of the above fit together
Research Liaison
The leading role in liaising with all stakeholders of DIT for the design, development and implementation of technology across the university.
Covers:
- Participation on projects teams, working parties and committees - providing strategic advice, domain expertise, planning and innovative suggestions on the use of technology
- Providing advice to stakeholders at a strategic level
- Developing roadmaps for the implementation of new technologies
- Promoting, extending and monitoring CSU's involvement in the external and internal communities
Infrastructure Architecture
The process of identifying and designing the infrastructure frameworks and technologies to best meet the strategic directions of the business. Infrastructure Architecture predominantly deals with the data centre, server, security, network and communications technology requirements of new initiatives.
Covers:
- The standardising, documentation, road mapping, designing and guiding, monitoring and measuring the infrastructural aspects of CSU IT systems.
Manager, Online Student Experience Strategy
- Provide leadership, strategic advice and professional expertise to the development of strategy aimed at improving the online student experience, activities delivering on the strategy, working parties, committees and senior members of the University;
- Provide leadership to the development of strategy within the Division of Information Technology and support Director, Enterprise Architecture and Liaison as Deputy in management of the team;
- Research and collate information to inform the understanding of the University student facing services, the development of business cases and proposals and support decision making;
- Communicate broadly on developments, improvements and changes occurring to our student facing online services.
Manager, Business Analysis and Process
- Leads the business analysis team (See Business Analyst). The business analysis team provides services to projects on the ISIP and the ICT:SWR;
- Leads the Business Process Office that exists to develop process management capability across the organisation units of CSU and to to directly support the goal of continuous improvement and process management.
Records & Compliance Management
Is the development and implementation of an electronic record keeping system within CSU that complies with legislation.
Covers:
- Developing policy in relation to records management
- Analysing and interpreting legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring CSU's legislative and compliance requirements comply under the State Records Act
- Ensuring that record keeping practices are adopted and conducted in the university through the University Secretary
- Maintenance of TRIM which is the university's record keeping system and providing advice and training in relation to the system and principles of TRIM
Manager, IT Project Portfolio
Providing advice and guidance to the wider university technology initiatives and projects to ensure high levels of engagement.
By:
- Providing high level governance and management of IT-centric projects that underpin enterprise initiatives
- Providing advice by contribution through the senior management group on emerging technologies and their appropriateness for adoption
- Fostering project management techniques in the Division by actively engaging senior staff in the sponsorship and promotion of project outcomes
- Mentoring through project methodology and application techniques
Integration Architecture
Has to ensure that applications and services are integrated by providing architectural strategy and design, and development oversight for data integration.
Covers:
- The process of combining data residing at different sources and providing the user with a unified view of that data
Process Analyst
The Process analyst provides support to those undertaking process review, analysis, renewal and improvement through devising and delivering process analysis training, and providing advice and support for those undertaking process change.
