Definition

Data that is shared across the organisation to support the daily operational and strategic activities of the University.  The classification and description of enterprise master data identifies the authoritative source of truth and allows for appropriate sharing across the organization.

What does Enterprise Master Data look like?

Enterprise master data is generally described two ways:

Currently the enterprise master data catalogue is tasked at defining data that needs to be shared across the organization.

CSU Staff can access a list of current enterprise Master Data via this link Master Data Dictionary.
A detailed description of Enterprise Master Data is available to support the activities and responsibilities of Data Custodians, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Business Representatives.  Master Data Definitions, Data Custodian Register and other views of master data is available via the Master Data Definitions Library.
There is an ongoing effort to identify and expand the enterprise master data set in alignment with the University’s strategic and operational goals, as a result there will be released version updates to the Enterprise Master Data Dictionary and Library resources.


Accessing Enterprise Master Data

The Enterprise Master Data Catalogue is readily available to inform discussions on initiatives or improvements.  To enable an application to be set up to access enterprise master data, this is managed through the relevant University change management processes.
