The CSU Spam Filtering System scans all incoming and outgoing emails. It identifies and blocks emails it recognises as spam and sends you a notification. The sender appears as email@example.com. You can log into the system from anywhere you have an internet connection. It is provided by Sophos and is known as an Email Appliance. You will see this wording in the top left corner when you log in and also if you use the inbuilt help menu.
You can use it to view a list of blocked messages, view the text in a blocked message and then delete, deliver or deliver and approve senders of blocked messages in addition to creating custom lists of blocked and approved senders. When you login you will see the sidebar (on the left) and a list of blocked messages on the right. If you click the subject line of a blocked message the email message viewer will open in a new window.
The Blocked Messages page allows you to manage the email blocked by the Email Appliance. The following actions are available:

The Deleted Messages page lists messages deleted from the Blocked Messages page.
Note: Deleted messages are kept on the server for 30 days or less.

The Approved Senders page lists email addresses that are known to be legitimate.
Note: Valid email addresses must use the following format: firstname.lastname@example.org (for example, email@example.com)
The Blocked Senders page lists email addresses that are known to distribute spam or viruses. The Email Appliance can be configured to block such messages.
