Information Technology is responsible for the provision of telephony services for the University. This consists of a number of Ericsson pabxs and both digital and analog handsets.
Some common phone commands include the following:
Transferring of calls
Analog extension
- Press PBX Recall
- Dial the destination number
- Hangup to transfer the call through.
Digital extension
- Put the caller on hold by pressing the line that the caller came through on (ie, Access 1)
- Press Inquiry
- Dial the destination number
- Press Transfer, or hangup
Note: To get the caller back press Access 1 or Access 2.
Call pickup
Call back
If the calling party is busy you may press "6" to have their phone call you back when their call is finished.
