setprof' - Setup your Outlook Profile at CSU
This service is provided for CSU staff to set up a CSU desktop computer or thin client service to use Microsoft Outlook XP. Not needed for Outlook 2007.
Who, When and Why?
- Anyone who uses Outlook at CSU for the first time
- Whenever you need to use Outlook on a computer that you havent used before
- The first time you log into a terminal server session at CSU
- Sometimes to remedy an Outlook issue if requested by a support person in DIT to do so
Warning
If the computer you are about to set up is already set up for you or someone else, running the "setprof" may upset various rules or other mailboxes already created or configured. Those sharing computers should be partcularly aware of this
How to
- Log in as yourself to CSU using the computer or thin client session (you must have access to the CSU wide shared drive (or S drive) for this service to work)
- Access the web and go to the IT Services link within my.csu
- From the list, choose "Outlook Setup ('setprof')"
- Read this page in full
- Choose the correct option below (a very short program will run on your machine)
- Open Outlook - your profile should now be set up correctly
Run 'setprof' Now
Please select the correct link based on the version of Outlook that you are using (choose ‘Run this program from its current location’ when prompted)
