Student printing

Introduction

All CSU student computers are connected to a network printer.  Students may also print from their own wireless laptops to CSU student printers. Black/white and colour printing facilities are available in the Learning Commons, Libraries and Computer Labs for students at the Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Thurgoona and Wagga campuses.

Black and white facilities are available on the Goulburn and Canadian campuses.  Instructions for installing and configuring the Ontario campus printers

Printing on campus costs you money and you should keep your printing account in credit.

Getting Started

Users may print on campus until their account becomes $4 in arrears which is equal to 30 black/white pages or 7 colour pages.  Each time you print the costs are deducted from your printing account balance.  You can check the balance of your printing account at any time by logging into a Pharos station.

How to Print

You can print from an application by selecting File and Print. Most applications also have a print icon or print button that you can just click so you dont have to select it from the menu. Once you have printed from a computer you will have to release your print job. Releasing a print job means you are confirming that you would like to print it.

CSU uses a print management and charging system called Pharos. Pharos Release Stations are where you release your print jobs fro.  Instructions for using Pharos Release Stations.

There are a variety of payment methods

Please see full details of payment methods accepted by CSU.

The minimum amount cashiers can accept is $5 and any amount will be accepted by credit card.

Once the payment is received and processed you will be emailed a confirmation that your printing balance has been increased by the amount you have paid. This usually occurs within 10 minutes of the receipt of your payment.

Payments made online with a credit card are the quickest and most convenient as you can make the payment whilst you’re working and you will receive an email confirmation immediately.

How Much Credit?

You should ensure your printing account balance is kept in credit to save any inconvenience. You should calculate how much you spend on printing each month and ensure your account has enough credit to pay for the following month.

Checking payments made to your printing account

All financial transactions including payment for printing can be found by clicking the link next to Your Total Balance.  The link is called “List all transactions on my account”.

Refund of printing credit at end of course

Any credit remaining at the end of your study may be refunded by attending the cashiers office at your local campus or by emailing your refund request to refunds@csu.edu.au.

Refunds are made by EFT transfer so please ensure you have provided your bank account details to CSU and they are current.  You can check or provide your details by clicking here
