Information Technology is responsible for the provision of telephony services for the University. This consists of a number of Ericsson pabxs and both digital and analog handsets.
Some common phone commands include the following:
Transferring of calls
Analog extension
Press PBX Recall
Dial the destination number
Hangup to transfer the call through.Note: to get the caller back press 2, to back out of voicemail press 2 again to get the caller back.
Digital extension
Put the caller on hold by pressing the line that the caller came through on (ie, Access 1)
Press Inquiry
Dial the destination number
Press Transfer, or hangupNote: To get the caller back press Access 1 or Access 2.
Call pickup
The ability to press "6" and receive a phone call coming through on another persons telephone extension. For this command to work you must be in the same "Call Pick up Group", to have this done a job needs to be logged on the service desk.
Call back
If the calling party is busy you may press "6" to have their phone call you back when their call is finished.
Call forwarding
