Email is an official form of University communication. CSU provide a secure University wide email and calendaring system for staff. There are over six thousand email accounts managed by the Division of Information Technology. Email can be accessed from on and off campus and from CSU computers and personally owned devices. The calendaring system can be used to schedule and book videoconferences in addition to traditional meetings and appointments. Distribution lists can be used to simplify group communications.

Accounts are automatically created email account creation for permanent, part time and contract staff
Email accounts for casual staff must be requested from the IT Service Desk
Email accounts can be created for temporary staff accounts by ticking the email account option when creating the temporary account
Creation of University wide distribution lists must be requested by contacting the IT Service Desk
CSU Spam Filtering System
To automatically release an email message from Quarantine open the Quarantined spam messages email notification (sender is Sophos Email Appliance Admin), click on the corresponding message ID for the email you wish to release. It will be delivered to your Inbox within 5 minutes (unless you have rules set up that filter it and deliver it to another folder)
To manually release emails from the CSU Spam Filtering System (Sophos Email Appliance) go to this page https://antispam.csu.edu.au enter your username and password and click Login, click in the tick box next to the required email and click the Deliver Message button

Creation, management and support of the email and calendaring service is funded by the University and provided at no additional cost to staff.
Emails are filtered to prevent staff receiving explicit content. Sophos behavioural genotype technology is used as a preventative measure against constantly evolving threats including viruses, phishing, spyware and malware. You should be aware that not all phishing emails can be blocked as they replicate legitimate emails. Education is the best protection against these threats. Click the link below to learn more.
