Project Brief

CSU has recently relocated all teaching, research and administrative services at Albury-Wodonga from its central Albury site to  the Thurgoona site (except for the Podiatry Clinic and Childcare Centre to be relocated in 2012). The Thurgoona site is an exciting development that includes innovative Ecologically Sustainable Design (ESD) principles and practices in a series of new buildings on an 87 hectare site within the developing suburb of Thurgoona.

The University's aspiration with the relocation of the Albury/Wodonga campus relocation to Thurgoona and with the subsequent disposal of the central Albury campus is to leave a lasting legacy with the sale and subsequent development of CSU's central Albury site in ways that are consistent with cultural heritage values of the site and provide opportunities for the development of a vibrant inner city precinct.

Disposal Process
This process is complex and is the result of considered negotiations and planning undertaken by the University with numerous stakeholders over the past 2-3 years. Bona fide parties (eg development consultants, contractors, real estate planners, investors, joint venture contractors) who wish to partake in the process outlined below, will receive detailed information to assist their participation.

To participate in this opportunity, interested parties must register to receive the initial package by emailing or telephoning Cheryl Honey, CSU Contracts Officer at choney@csu.edu.au or Ph 0269 334347.

The process of disposal has a number of stages:

Phase 1 - Planning    (completed)
Detailed master-planning and stakeholder consultation facilitated in conjunction with Albury City Council. This resulted in a CSU Master plan for the site that was incorporated into a Development Control Plan for Albury and was endorsed by Albury City Council in 2010 after public display and notification. To view this plan click here.

Phase 2 - Disposal
Stage 1                        Relocation to Thurgoona of remaining CSU services
Stage 2                        Registration of Interest by bona fide parties
Stage 3                        Submission of Expression of Interest
Stage 4                        Short listed bona fide parties invited to submit a detailed proposal
Stage 5                        Proposals evaluated and commercial negotiations with endorsed party

Concurrently the University is exploring options of the sale of properties on the site by public auction. An initial plan of sub-division of Lot 111 is being prepared for evaluation and consideration by CSU.

Enquiries regarding the sale of these properties and the plan of subdivision may be directed to the appointed real estate agent Stanley and Martin. Contact Steve Martin ph  02 6023 8900.
