Wagga HV supply

Scope

This project will establish a single HV metered supply point to the Essential Energy network through the installation of a new 11kV main switch switchboard. The move from two metering points to a single point on the Wagga Wagga campus will result in significant yearly savings and will allow for a more controlled network – especially during planned and emergency power outages.

Design Features

The installation of a metering point on the single supply will help CSU better track electricity use, power factor, power quality and other parameters to enable better management of power use and quality on campus.

A redundant tie line will be used to form a HV ring main within the Wagga Wagga campus. This set-up will provide extra control when works are carried out on campus, i.e. reducing the area size affected during power outages during maintenance activities, upgrades and new installation works and providing sectioning capabilities during faults and emergency repairs.
