Scope

Charles Sturt University have identified a need to undertake a refurbishment of the student areas of building 230. The parts to be refreshed are the Dining Hall, Vice Chancellor’s Room, Lobby and the “Ag Tavern”.

Design Features

The dynamics of the student spaces are forever changing the requirements for how these spaces are used. CSU are committed to continually enhancing the “on Campus experience” for the students.

Spaces to be refurbished are:

  • Room 119 – Student Dining Hall
  • Room 102 – Vice Chancellor Room (Bar)
  • Room 168 – Ag Tavern (24 hour student space)
  • Room 101 – Lobby to Convention Centre

Benefits of refreshing the student spaces are:

  • Enhancement of the space
  • Enhance students on campus experience
  • Increased sense of well-being for staff and students
  • Meet current/future requirements of use for each spaces
  • Increased public patronage/engagement
  • Effective maintenance programs

Sustainability Features

CSU encourages Sustainable building practices and always endeavours to reduce our carbon footprint. Some of the features of this refurbishment are:

  • Demolished materials are to be recycled/reused
  • All new light fittings are LED fittings
  • Long life materials selected for FFE items
  • Window tinting/ signage on the northern elevation of the lobby
