    The preference is to close the road and undertake works in a quicker time frame and with reduced risk, however the contractor has allowed for keeping reduced access going with associated traffic controls in place. Delays can be expected, alternative routes using the Gap Road are recommended. NSW DPI will use alternative access for the duration of the works.

Scope

Proposed roadworks to the western section of Agriculture Avenue from The Gap Road to Starvation Lane.

Design Features

This project features proposed roadworks to the western section (approx. 980m) of Agriculture Avenue from The Gap Road to Starvation Lane. The section of Agriculture Avenue to be upgraded is a 6.6-8.1m wide sealed road plus associated drainage works.

Additional features include:

  • bitumen sealed to 7.5M width,
  • asphalt intersections, and
  • improved drainage system to mitigate road flooding.
  • Road safety features including signage, guideposts and line marking.

Sustainability Features

  • Drainage swales with jute lining & rock to reduce erosion
  • Storm water flow directed to existing dams
  • Reuse of existing topsoil & hydro seeding on completion
