Project Brief

CSU has identified the needs to increase the research facilities of the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre located within the Rob Potter Centre on the Wagga Wagga campus.

Building 404 currently consists of 2 levels with a laboratory and Cellar Door on level 1 and a teaching laboratory and office accommodation on level 2, with a proposal to partly refurbish both laboratories and relocated the Cellar Door for future expansion.

The works will comprise the part refurbishment of builindgs 404 and 406, the staged construction of buildings 413 and the extension of the exisitng stormwater system to include a new dam and irrigation system for the vineyard.

Due to budget constratins prior to construction, the project has been limited to:

  • Building 404 - Minor refurbishment of labs and strip out of existing cellar door on ground floor and minor refurbishment of Sensory lab and the extension of the prep room on the second floor
  • Building 406 - Minor servies upgrade on upper floor
  • Building 413 - Construction of a new 3 stroy building with cellar door on the ground flood and PC2 laboratories on Level 3
  • The following areas will be provided as shell space only: Laboratory on Level 2 and Southern Office areas on Level 2 & 3
  • The following areas will comprise of stage 2 (future construction works): New conference room and breakout area on ground floor and Northern office areas on Level 2 & 3
  • Stormwater Harvesting - Diversion of exisiting stormwater lines to drain into a new "turkey nest" dam via a new "wetland" or settling area.
