Project Brief

New Skills Centre Building is required to accommodate the Musculoskeletal Clinics and a Skills Home for the School of Community Health.

The New Skills Centre is a single storey building to be located diagonally across from the Peter Till building on University owned land. The building will be on a single level and will be setback to clear a line of mature trees across the site which has been identified as a protected species habitat.

The horizontal planar base and roof elements and the articulation of the facade will control its scale to integrate the design with the adjoining buildings on the University campus. The materials palette will be selected to reflect and complement the existing University campus buildings. Materials selection includes reinforced concrete slab, expressed structural steel frame (painted), panelised CFC cladding (painted), feature timber cladding, sheet metal roofing and tinted glass.
