The engaging of external contractors plays an integral part of the Divisions function within the University. The following information provides an outline of the processes of our contractor induction system to ensure our OHS obligations are maintained.
The basis of this system is the general induction of all contractors. This allows any contractor the ability to undergo the general induction and have their records available for work on any campus of the University. The general induction package provides an overview of their OHS obligations, both in terms of statutory and University requirements.
Below are the individual components of the system. Many of these allow for some degree of flexibility to suit the particular campus operations without any loss of commonality of the system for the Division.
Contactor General Site Induction Package
The package provides a summary of key components from the OHS regulation 2001 and University OHS policies and procedures. It also includes other relevant information for contractors working at the University.
Declaration
All contractors are required undertake the Contractor General Site Induction prior to performing work at the University and return a declaration stating that their work practices will comply with the relevant statutory and University policies. This declaration is included in the Contractor General Site Induction package, but will also be included separately, for ease of access.
Contractor registration
All contractors are required to register with "MyContractor". My Contractor is an online database that specialises in the management of contractor’s compliance certification and OH&S information. Registration is at no cost to contractors and registration is able to be easily performed online. See the following document for step by step registration instructions to register and upload certificates of currency and your OHS policy.
CSU Contractor ID Badges and Contractor site log book
All contractors are required to report to the Divisions office at each campus on arrival and complete the contractor site log book and collect a CSU contractor ID badge.
