Security
Providing a 24 hour, seven days a week service to all campuses, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all staff, students and visitors. The Security Service provides an invaluable service to the campus community through:
- Safe escort service after dark
- Providing assistance
- Answering inquiries
- Patrolling campus for safety and protection of people and assets
- Providing first aid assistance
- Accepting incident reports from members of the community about thefts, etc
- Responding to reports about suspicious persons, activity or conduct
- Supervising traffic and parking operations
- Responding to emergencies.
- The Security Service can be contacted through office telephones or from any Security telephone located about campus
- All Officers are licensed security operatives as required by the Security Industry Act. All Officers are required to maintain a current senior first aid certificate and undergo training in various aspects of their work including fire safety.
The Service relies on members of the campus community to report problems, suspicious persons or incidents immediately they occur. Without this assistance, the campus community cannot function effectively.
