Minimum Entry Requirements
Subject to limitations imposed by course quotas, CSU may admit to an undergraduate course, any applicant it believes can undertake the course with reasonable prospect of success.
To determine their prospect of success, the University considers the applicant's previous studies and/or other attainments and experience. For more information on the University's admission policy and the types of studies, attainments and experience that are considered, please refer to the Academic Manual.
Most CSU courses use a range of selection criteria other than, or in
combination with, the University Admissions Index (UAI), particularly
courses offered by distance education. In addition, the University has
a number of pathways into courses, including the Special Consideration
for Admission Scheme, the Koori Admission Program, the Principal's Report
Entry Program, the Regional Bonus Scheme, the Associate Student Program
and in some courses, strong performance in Year 12 subjects relevant
to the course of study.
For more information on these pathways, please
refer to the Academic
Manual or contact Info.csu phone 1800 334 733
As part of the higher education reforms, universities are now required to provide the minimum Universities Admissions Index (UAI) an applicant may need to be admitted to any of their courses. This figure is the minimum published UAI for a current Year 12 applicant receiving a place at the institution in the main round of admission for the 2007 academic year where a UAI was the sole criteria for offer of a place (except for school subject prerequisites) at CSU.
While the figure relates to a minimum UAI required in a course offered by CSU, many courses will require a higher UAI to gain admission. However, many courses at CSU do not rely solely on the UAI for admission, as explained above.
The minimum published UAI required for admission to an internal course at CSU for the 2008 academic year is 65.0. Please note that this requirement may change for the 2009 intake.
