OHS Consultation Ballot

Managing safety is everyone's business, and ohs consultation is an important component of safety management. In meeting the preceding principle, it has been decided to give staff the opportunity to vote on the proposed method of ohs consultation at Charles Sturt University.

Initial consultation with staff has been through the various staff associations. This has resulted in the proposal that is being put to a vote of staff. It should be noted that this proposal only applies to ohs consultation outside of normal consultation within your units. The proposed model effectively keeps the existing campus OHS Committees, which have proved to be an effective consultative mechanism at the University.

Ballot papers should be mailed to staff during the last week of May with a return date of 14 June 2004. Please take this opportunity to be involved with the management of safety at your workplace.
