Nominations
There is no application process for Faculty/Division Awards. Instead, nominations are based on the achievement of outstanding performance by individuals or teams, as determined by supervisors through the annual performance management process or team reviews. Supervisors also determine if outstanding performance was due to individual or team achievement.
Supervisors nominate all staff members and teams that achieved outstanding performance during the performance period to the relevant Dean, Executive Director or Deputy Vice-Chancellor for an Individual or Team Faculty/Division Award in one of the award categories. As evidence of the staff member’s or team’s achievement, the supervisor attaches a copy of the Performance Review and Performance Rating/Comments page from the relevant Performance Report(s) to each nomination.
NOTE:
- A nominated team must include at least one member who has received a rating of "outstanding performance" - the other members may have received a rating of "exceeds requirements", "meets requirements" or " below requirements".
- For areas that report to the Vice-Chancellor, the supervisors send their nominations to the primary budget centre manager. This manager forwards the nominations to any Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who then meets with the other Deputy Vice-Chancellors to jointly select award recipients.
- For researchers who report to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research), the DVC nominates outstanding staff to the relevant Dean for a Faculty Research Award.

Selection Process
Each supervisor speaks in support of their nominations.
The Dean, Executive Director or Deputy Vice-Chancellor selects the most outstanding nominees for Individual and Team Awards, based on achievements in relation to a nominee’s classification level. The Dean, Executive Director or Deputy Vice-Chancellor may also consult the Division of Human Resources for advice in the selection process. The decision of the Dean, Executive Director or Deputy Vice-Chancellor is final, and not subject to review or appeal

Value of Awards
The awards are valued at $2000 for an individual and $2000 to be shared among a team for individual or team purposes. The financial value of the awards is transferred into the relevant Faculty/Division account to be used in accordance with the wishes of the staff member or team to enhance their professional development, research and/or work. NOTE: If equipment is purchased with the award money, it may be used exclusively by the staff member or team for the duration of their employment/operation but remains the property of the University. An award may not be taken as cash.

Announcement and presentation of awards
Within four weeks of selection, the Dean, Executive Director or Deputy Vice-Chancellor informally notify the recipients of Faculty/Division Awards, and asks the Division of Human Resources to transfer the financial award into the relevant Faculty/Division account.
Formal announcement of the award recipients occurs at the combined Faculty/Division/Vice-Chancellor’s Awards presentation ceremony in Wagga Wagga and Bathurst. Recipients also receive a certificate, and are recorded on the CSU web site and Alesco database.
