Casual General Staff - Gradings
| Key Information | Description |
|---|---|
| All casuals, excluding part time 'top up' (see below). | Normally paid at the first salary step, regardless of the level. |
| CSU student working in an area that relates to their study or is likely to improve their career prospects. | Casual student rate applies, with a maximum engagement of 10 hours per day. |
| Replacing an employee on leave. | Same level as the employee on leave, providing the casual is performing the full range of duties for the position. Normally paid at the first step of that level. |
| Ad hoc casual work. | At a level consistent with the University's classification descriptors. Contact HR if assistance is required to determine the appropriate level. |
| Part-time employee 'topping up' during workload peaks. | Same level as their part-time position. If consistently 'topping up', consider requesting an increase in substantive fraction. |
