The purpose of academic staff promotion is to recognise the achievements and professional development of academic staff and their demonstrated capacity to contribute to CSU's mission by undertaking duties at a higher level than their current appointment.

Information Session for Staff Applying for Academic Promotion

This session is for Academic staff who are planning to apply for promotion in 2012. The session will be facilitated by Professor Sue Thomas and Professor Ross Chambers

2 April 2012 Teleconference

Information Session for Heads of School

This information session is an opportunity for the DVC Research, DVC Academic, Deans and Heads of School to discuss the role of the Head of School in the process of Academic Promotion. The session will be facilitated by Professor Sue Thomas and Professor Ross Chambers

All Academic staff who intend to apply for Promotion in 2012 are asked to notify the Secretary, Academic Promotions Committee by 30th April 2012, by emailing:

academicpromotions@csu.edu.au

1 August 2012

 

Last date for applicants to send completed Applications to Heads of School

31 August 2012

 

Applications close 5:00pm

The statement from the Head of School must be signed and included in the correct order of the application, when submitted by the applicant. Please email one electronic copy of your completed application to:

academicpromotions@csu.edu.au

Please do not include appendices or send any applications in hard copy

All referee reports are due tothe Secretary Academic Promotions Committee by 5:00pm. Referees are also asked to email an electronic copy of their report to:

academicpromotions@csu.edu.au

The Secretary, Academic Promotions Committee will provide each applicant with an acknowledgement letter within 5 days upon receipt of their application and advise if any referee reports have not been received 

September 2012

 

Faculty Academic Staff Promotion Committee meetings are held (Level B)

October 2012

 

University Promotions Committee Meeting will be held (Level C)

October 2012

 

Professorial Promotions Committee Meeting will be held (Level D and E)

November 2012

 

Successful applicants are announced by the Vice-Chancellor

March 2013

 

New titles (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Professor) and salary increases are effective from this date
