Fixed Term Appointments

| Recruiting for a Fixed Term Position | An online form used for both fixed term and continuing appointments. |
| Directly Appointing to a Fixed Term Position | An online form used for appointments up to 12 months. |
| Leave Entitlements | Leave entitlements for fixed term staff are the same as continuing except that a staff member who does not work for the full year accrues leave on a pro rata basis. |
| Incremental Progression | Staff on fixed-term contracts of twelve months or less are not eligible for incremental progression. |
Expiration of a Fixed Term Contract |
Clause 23.11 of the Enterprise Agreement details the period of notice required to renew, or not renew, a fixed term appointment. |
| Eligibility to extend | Employees who were appointed to a contract position based on merit are eligible to have their contract extended. Please note that where an employee has been directly appointed into a position and the maximum term allowable for the direct appointment has expired (12 months) and you wish to extend the contract you will need to advertise the position and undertake a competitive selection process in order to continue the position. |
