Tier 2 - Workplace Recognition Strategies
Supervisors will provide this Tier recognition for all staff who receive a rating of exceeds requirements or outstanding performance .
- Staff will be recognised through local workplace recognition strategies that are determined jointly by the supervisor and staff.
- The Dean / Executive Director / Deputy Vice-Chancellor also issues a letter of congratulations to these staff members and teams.
Workplace recognition related to performance ratings normally takes place on completion of the performance management meetings. In addition, recognition of staff achievements should occur regularly throughout the year.
In 2008 the Division of Human Resources conducted surveys and the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) held Culture and Internal Communication focus groups to identify:
- which recognition practices CSU staff value;
- how to improve current recognition practices; and
- what new recognition strategies staff would like CSU to introduce.
