The Performance Rating Scale
During the meeting, staff will discuss their proposed self-rating for achievements over the past performance period with their supervisor. The supervisor will then discuss their performance rating based on the evidence. There are five performance rating categories:
- Meets Performance Requirements [performs well]
- Exceeds Performance Requirements
- Outstanding Performance
- Below Performance Requirements [support required]
- Unsatisfactory Performance
Note: In addition to the rating scale as outlined below, the Guidelines for Assessing Academic Staff Performance [DOC] will assist supervisors to assess the performance of academic staff against agreed performance objectives and the position requirements, and determine an appropriate performance rating.
