Partnership Marketing

Within the Division of International Education and Partnerships, TAFE recruitment is a major focus and has a dedicated team managing this key area of partnership marketing.

A range of strategies are implemented each year specifically targeting TAFE students, including the following:

Marketing and promotion of formal pathway programs

Promotion of formal pathway programs is typically the responsibility of each TAFE partner, however the Division of International Education and Partnerships supports its TAFE partners as follows:

• helps to develop marketing and promotional strategy and plans
• provides images, logo and copy for marketing materials, as well as production approval of all materials
• promotes programs through the 'TAFE to CSU' website and dedicated Online Course Brochures
• coordinates internal communication including briefing the contact centre to ensure effective enquiry management
• assists with events and program information sessions where required
• promotes programs through our Prospective Student Advisor network.

Promotion direct to TAFE students and graduates

Each year, the team delivers a large range of marketing and recruitment activities directly targeting TAFE students. The primary aim of this activity is to raise awareness of the transition from TAFE to CSU, which will ultimately drive enrolment numbers and student load from TAFE. Marketing activity targeting TAFE students and graduates includes the following:

CU@CSU program

The CU@CSU program supports TAFE students wanting to further their study at CSU by offering the following:
• Guaranteed entry for all Diploma and Advanced Diploma students into most CSU undergraduate degrees
• Generous course credit for relevant study
• Scholarships exclusively for TAFE graduates
• Dedicated information sessions held on campuses at TAFE.

Marketing activities promoting this program include:
• On campus information sessions at TAFE
• On campus advertising at TAFE
• Promotion online including through CU@CSU campaign landing page, as well as through all TAFE partner websites
• Google AdWords campaigns to drive traffic to the TAFE specific landing page: www.csu.edu.au/tafe
• Radio advertising.

Events and information sessions

• TAFE events: Implementation of dedicated events specifically targeting TAFE students, including the CU@CSU DAYs on campus in Bathurst and Wagga, along with a dedicated event in Sydney called DE DAY.
• Information sessions: Delivery of dedicated information sessions on campus at each key feeder TAFE. These sessions include general information session targeted at all TAFE students, as well as specialist sessions targeted at specific cohorts.

TAFE to University website

These pages sit under the prospective student website and provide TAFE students with detailed information and links about pathway programs, credit packages, guaranteed entry, events, and scholarships.

CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship program

The 'TAFE to University' Scholarship program has been developed for Diploma and Advanced Diploma TAFE students. There are a total of 32 scholarships available each year, and scholarships are worth $2,500 cash.

Research

To ensure CSU obtains up-to-date intelligence regarding the TAFE market, the Division of International Education and Partnerships runs surveys, targeting CSU students who have come from TAFE. The aim of the activity is to:
• continue to develop insights into which TAFE Institutes and TAFE qualifications are key feeders for CSU
• identify the demographics of TAFE target markets
• establish what the barriers are to making the transition from TAFE to CSU.
