Australian Scholarships
Charles Sturt University is registered to receive various scholarship students on behalf of The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
Australian Scholarships is an Australian Government initiative to build partnerships and increase mutual understanding, knowledge and innovation in the Asia Pacific region. The scholarships available include:
- Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) is managed by AusAID and provides people with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive change and influence the development outcomes of their own country, through obtaining tertiary qualifications at participating Australian institutions
- Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) is managed by AusAID and provides scholarships for post-graduate studies in Australia and for short-term fellowship opportunities in specialised research study or for professional attachments through participating Australian organisations focused on developing future leaders
- DEST Endeavour Awards Program is managed by DEST and provides opportunities within the Asia-Pacific region for developing mutual understanding through study, research, professional development and international education experiences
How to Apply
If you are applying for an Australian Scholarship and would like to study at Charles Sturt University you should apply for admission in accordance with the Australian Scholarship requirements as outlined on the AusAID website.
ADS applicants apply directly to the nominated contact as per the country listing.
ALA applicants apply initially to Charles Sturt University and after receiving an offer apply to AusAID for the scholarship.
DEST Endeavour Awards Program applicants apply to Charles Sturt University for an offer and to DEST for the scholarship.

Support Services
International Student Advisers (ISAs) are available to support your adjustment to studying and living at CSU. Our support to you and your family begins with pre-arrival information, arrival assistance and continues throughout your study at CSU to your return home. International Student Advisers are part of a team of support within Student Services . These services are designed to assist all students to achieve their goals. Services include: Orientation, Learning Skills, Maths Support, English Support, Accommodation (both on campus and off campus), Health, Religious/Community, Counselling, Career Advice, Disability Issues, and Student Equity Support.
