Wagga Wagga is uniquely located within easy access to the three main cities of Australia : Canberra (the nation's capital), Sydney and Melbourne . Canberra is a three-hour drive away; Sydney and Melbourne are a comfortable one-hour flight from Wagga Wagga.
What is the climate like?
Wagga Wagga has a hot, dry climate with average Summer temperatures (Dec-Feb) around 35 o C. In Winter (Jun-Aug) the average daytime temperature is 14 o C but at night it can be as low as 0 o C. Students are advised to bring loose clothing for Summer and warm clothing, including a wind-proof jacket for Winter.
Can I practise my faith in Wagga Wagga?
Freedom of religious choice is an important part of the Australian lifestyle and this is reflected on campus where there is an Islamic Study Centre and an interdenominational Chapel for Christian worship. Other religions including Bahai, Buddhism and Judaism are represented in the community.
What leisure activities can I do in Wagga Wagga?
Wagga Wagga has a rich cultural life with art galleries, theatres, cinemas and concert venues. It is known as "the Garden City" and its many public parks, lakeside and river areas along with private gardens make it a very attractive city. The Botanic Gardens contain a small zoo and a fully functioning model railway in addition to beautifully kept gardens.
Wagga Wagga is also known as "the City of Good Sports " as many of Australia 's best-known sporting personalities have some association with this city. There are extensive sporting facilities in Wagga Wagga, including 3 golf courses and an indoor/outdoor aquatic centre. In the nearby regions it is also possible to go horse riding, abseiling, gliding and white water rafting.
