Learning Skills
Learning Skills Advisers at Student Services provides learning support to students to enable them to acquire or enhance the skills they need to succeed in their university studies. During workshop tutorials, drop-in sessions and study centres, or through individual consultations, students are presented with strategies and techniques that will allow them to better participate in academic activities. Learning advisers can provide assistance in such things as:
- Time management
- Reading and note taking
- Assignment preparation including essay and report writing
- Tutorial preparation and presentations
- Examination preparation and performance
- Writing annotated bibliographies
- Avoiding plagiarism
- Critical thinking

Study Link
The Study Link program offers enabling subjects which are designed to link you into your new life as a student at CSU and will really kick start your studies.
By completing one or more Study Link subjects, you will not only increase your skills, but also develop a clear understanding of the expectations of studying at University.

International Student Advisers
Each campus has an International Student Adviser (ISA) who is able to assist you, they will also be your main contact on campus. You can speak to an International Student Adviser on any matter.
The ISA's understand what it is like to live and study in a foreign country and can offer you support during your stay at CSU. They can assist in day to day matters and in times of crisis and urgent situations.
This is a free and confidential service.

Counselling
Our counselling service offers confidential and professional help to students who are experiencing a range of personal concerns, including adjustment to university life.

Health Services
The health services on Bathurst and Wagga Wagga campuses include a doctors' clinic and general nursing care. Female doctors are available for consultations.
All services are treated confidentially.
English Language Skills Support
This is available for students who have difficulties with English language in grammar and writing.

Maths Skills
Maths Skills Advisers offer assistance to students who are having difficulties with mathematics or statistics in their course. Advisers provide individual assistance for students and developmental workshops on special topics.

Religious and Community Connections
We can connect you with religious and spiritual support available in your new community. Each campus also has its own chaplain and Wagga Wagga campus is home to the Islamic Study Centre.

Orientation
Our Orientation Program runs in the week before classes commence. This program will assist you to make the transition to living and studying in Australia and is designed to provide a framework that will allow you to get the most out of your experience both academically and personally.
The program includes workshops on library orientation, computer centre (laboratories) access , overseas student health cover, taxation, visa requirements, accommodation options, studying in Australia , family assistance and support services. This is also a time to attend course advisory and enrolment sessions and you will also find out about your timetable.
Orientation is an opportunity to make new friends and prepare for the semester ahead.

Residences and Catering Services
Residences and Catering Services manage a variety of on-campus accommodation at Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst , Wagga Wagga and Orange. Campus rooms are fully furnished with a bed, desk, cupboard, drawers, shelves and chair. Bed linen and pillows are also provided. Most rooms have a phone with voice mail and a data point.
CSU is one of only a few universities to provide on-campus accommodation to students.

Other Support Services
Security Service
The University operates a security service on all campuses to ensure the safety of students, staff and property. If you feel unsafe for any reason you can call the campus security service and they will assist.
The service operates every night and weekend at Bathurst, Wagga and Thurgoona campuses to ensure the safety of all residents.
Campus Life
Living on campus is like joining a new community. Our campuses are home to students from all parts of the world and from all walks of life. You can choose to be as involved as you would like to.
The campuses all have excellent sporting facilities and there are sporting and social clubs active on each campus.
