
The focus of Education at EFPI is to increase scholarly understanding and application of professional and practice-based education across CSU. EFPI seeks to achieve this objective through enabling the capacity of staff to explore and integrate practice-based education (PBE) within their teaching, learning and assessment. PBE operates as a framework for articulating the variety of teaching and learning strategies which assist in preparing graduates for their professional practice and societal responsibilities.
EFPI seeks to explore, examine and engage with ways educators create and interconnect with the diversity of PBE learning spaces: classroom, workplace, collaborative, online and life-wide. These spaces of learning and education are expanding rapidly in conjunction with emerging and evolving professions, societal change, globalisation and new technologies. PBE provides a valuable framework for understanding and critically reflecting upon how these challenges and opportunities are opening up new spaces for teaching and learning in higher education and how they impact upon professional and practice-based education.
