Dr Sandra Grace
Professional Work Background
Sandra has a background in complementary medicine practice as a chiropractor, osteopath, acupuncturist and herbal medicine practitioner for 22 years. She developed and taught natural therapies training courses at private colleges and at the University of Western Sydney. She completed a MSc (Chiro) by research at Macquarie University in 2004 and a PhD at the University of Sydney in 2008.
Her research area is integrative medicine, combining complementary and
mainstream medicine, as an emerging model of primary health care, and its
implications for training. Her research has instilled a strong belief in
integrative medicine as prevention and in the importance of establishing
a focus in education on the connections among health, the environment and
social justice. Her research interests now include work integrated learning
and curriculum design for learning citizens..
