An Evaluation of the management of e-learning in Higher Education Institutes of Sri Lanka.

Kulari is investigating the management of e-learning that influences education practices in three Higher Education Institutes in Sri Lanka.  The three case studies highlight the unique cultural context and the socio economic factors that impact on the Higher Education sector in Sri Lanka. She has developed and suggested a set of recommendations which focus on the areas such as processes, infrastructure, leadership, and strategic planning that need to be considered when developing e-learning resources and delivering using e-learning within Higher Education Institutes, especially in Sri Lanka.

Academic Staff Adoption of Transformative Blended Learning

Judi is investigating the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations of our teachers involved in online and blended learning environments and what factors impact on teaching staff adoption of/resistance to transformative blended learning?  Whether the factors are largely external (institutional culture and level of information and communication technologies literacy) or internal (cultural values and beliefs, learning styles, discipline and gender) or a combination of both?  Whether there is a need for teaching staff to be experienced with enabling and enhancing forms of blended learning before considering transforming learning?
