Welcome to the Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT)
Foundations of University Learning and Teaching is an induction into the distinctive learning and teaching culture and practices at CSU. FULT has been designed to help participants enhance their teaching capability and become part of the teaching community.
FULT is offered in four blocks; see here for an overview of the program as offered in 2011. (The page will be updated by early 2012). You may complete FULT in blended mode or online mode:
- Blended mode comprises a two day workshop plus online follow-up via Interact.
Attend one of these:
Wagga: February 13-14, 2012
Bathurst: February 16-17, 2012
Wagga: July 4-5, 2012
- Online mode comprises individual and group learning and sharing activities centering on the FULT Interact site.
Whichever mode you participate in, plan for an ongoing engagement with your FULT colleagues and program staff. On successful completion you will receive a certificate of completion and your Web Kiosk training record will be updated.
Who may attend?
- new probationary teaching staff, unless exempted; details here about exemptions
- casual academic staff
- CSU full-time research higher degree students.
If you are unsure whether you need to complete FULT please talk to your head of school; schools will cover travel costs to attend FULT. There is no registration fee.
How to register
You may register to commence in 2011 or 2012. Click the year you wish to commence, enter your details, then press the SUBMIT button. If you have any problems please email: fult@csu.edu.au
Note: you can complete one or more blocks in one year and finish the following year.
Relationships with other courses and qualifications:
On completion of FULT, probationary staff are required to enrol in EEL409 University Learning and Teaching in the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching.
The normal and recommended sequence is to complete FULT when you commence (either Session 1 or 2), then enrol in EEL409. Staff who complete EEL409 are encouraged to complete the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching.
