Who should attend FULT?
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) advises that:
it is University policy that all new academic staff at CSU are required to participate in an induction program in university learning and teaching, unless they have already completed an equivalent program. New staff in the latter category are still encouraged to complete a program at CSU as an introduction to the distinctive features of learning and teaching at CSU.
If you wish to be exempted from participation in the induction program because you have completed an equivalent program, please contact your Head of School as soon as possible.
Short term (Teaching-Research and Teaching-Professional appointments)
For a fixed-term appointment of less than three years, successful completion of the Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT) program is a minimum requirement of probation, unless waived by the Dean in consultation with the Head of School and the Executive Director, Division of Learning and Teaching Services during the induction period (Academic staff probation policy, para. 8.3, revised)
Longer term (Teaching-Research and Teaching-Professional appointments)
For continuing appointments and fixed-term appointments of three years or more, successful completion of FULT and EEL409 University Learning and Teaching is required unless waived by the Dean in consultation with the Head of School and the Executive Director, Division of Learning and Teaching Services during the induction period (Academic staff probation policy, para. 8.4, revised).
