Contact
What it does
The Contact tool is a default tool in all subject sites and is not available in project sites. It displays the staff members who have access to the site and their responsibility in the site.
Key concepts
As this is a dynamic tool it will automatically reflect any changes made to the Subject Coordinators database that are relevant to the subject.
Things to consider
The Contact tool only displays in subject sites and cannot be hidden.
Functionality
The Subject Coordinator role view of the Contact tool allows for:
- show/hide of any site member in the Subject Coordinator, Other Staff or Read Only roles (i.e. all roles except Student role). The show/hide of site members will be reflected in the Read Only view.
- roles to be displayed that are relevant to this subject, i.e. display a member in the Other Staff role as having ‘tutor' responsibilities for the subject.
‘Display as Responsibility' options available from drop down box are:
- Do Not Display (default for all members other than the Subject Coordinator listed in the Subject Coordinators database)

The role selections made in the Subject Coordinators view are displayed as shown below, including a message advising students to refer to the Subject Outline for more contact details.
