The academic biography provides the opportunity for a personal introduction to the Subject Coordinator and can include a photograph. See How to insert an image.
It is recommended that an introduction to the Subject Coordinator be provided in each Subject Outline, particularly for Distance Education (DE) and Offshore Tutorial (OT) offerings of the subject.
It is sometimes not possible to include an Academic biography such as cases when the Subject Coordinator is not known at the time of publishing the Outline to students. If an introduction to the Subject Coordinator is not added, the heading will not appear in the published version of the Subject Outline and the Subject Coordinator name will display as 'To be advised'. Once the Subject Coordinator becomes known, procedures for notifying students which comply with the Academic Manual must be followed. Refer to the Academic Manual part L6.3 section 1.3.2 Teaching Staff Identification and Contact Details.
