Access Option

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The access option - either public or private - can be selected by the Author at Step 4 of the 'Create New Outline' process.  Access may also be switched within the 'Edit' screen - for instructions see Outline Access.

Please note:

Only the Author can Edit an Outline. See Change Author regarding transferral of the Author role.
Once deemed 'Ready to Publish' the Outline will automatically obtain 'public' access to all Coordinators and QA Officers in the SCMF (but not all staff - see next point).
Only after the Outline has been published, will all CSU staff be able to view the Subject Outline.

Option

Accessibility

Public

'Public' access allows other staff with any role in the Subject Coordinator Maintenance Form (SCMF) to 'View' the Outline in 'Draft' status, i.e. all Subject Coordinators, Nominal Subject Coordinators and Quality Assurance Officers in the SCMF for current and future subject offerings will be able to:

'View' the Outline from their My Outlines, QA or Search results lists
'Clone' the Outline or
'Reuse content' from the Outline.

Private

'Private' access allows only the Author to access the Outline until it is deemed 'Ready to Publish'.  The QA Officer/s assigned to the subject offering will be able to view the Outline once it becomes 'Ready to Review'.

Share a private Outline

The 'print version' option (PDF format) allows an Author to share a private Outline by either printing for hardcopy distribution or softcopy circulation via email or a shared drive.
