One of two (2) due date options must be selected for the assignment item to be deemed compliant.
This information may also be used by other CSU systems, e.g. EASTS.
The two (2) due date options are:
Due Date |
A due date must be selected to indicate the date which the item is due to be received by the University.
A Due Date will become void if the Variable Date checkbox is selected. Also note that the Variable Date checkbox must be deselected to enable selection from the Due Date datepicker.
The Return Date is auto-calculated three (3) weeks from the Due Date selected.
Due Date outside the subject offering teaching session, e.g. Year long subjects In some circumstances, a due date outside the offering teaching session will need to be selected. For example, an Outline is created for Session 1 of a year long subject however due dates will need to be selected for assessments due during Session 2 of the year long subject. In this case, upon saving the Assignment Item the system will prompt you to confirm your due date selection. If indeed you had intended to select a date outside of the teaching session of the offering confirm your selection - if not, return to the Assignment item to amend the date.

Variable Date |
A due date which varies can be indicated by selecting the Variable Date checkbox. This should be selected for an ongoing assignment item such as Laboratory reports, tutorial presentations or Forum participation. Variable dates must then be described within the Task section of the assignment, e.g. during your Week 8 tutorial, once a week, etc.
If a Due Date has been selected from the datepicker it will become void when the Variable Date checkbox is selected. Also note that the 'To be advised' checkbox must be deselected to enable selection from the Date datepicker.
