One of three (3) marking schemes must be selected and any further information must be inputted. Also see 'SY/US grading mode' below.

This information may also be used by other CSU systems, e.g. EASTS.

The three (3) Marking Scheme options are:

Value

If selected a numeric value (percentage) must be inputted.

Variable Value

Use in cases where students can attempt extra assessments to gain a different value for the assessment.  If selected the variable value option enables further refinement to the numeric value (percentage) and requires the item numbers to be inputted for the extra assessments such as in the example below.

Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory

Use in cases when there is no numeric value ascribed to the assessment and students will receive either a Satisfactory (SY) or Unsatisfactory (US) mark.

SY/US grading mode

Where Banner indicates that the subject has a Satisfactory/ Unsatisfactory grading mode, all assessment items must also have Satisfactory/ Unsatisfactory marking scheme.  Thus the Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory option will be the only selectable option to enable the subject to be supported by the Gradebook tool.  If the grading mode is incorrect in Banner, please correct the data in Banner then re-enter the Subject Outlines tool to add numerical values to the applicable assessment items.
