Within the Edit screen there are several functions which will assist the Author in navigating the Outline structure; as well quick access to Manage Assessments and Online Subject Outlines which were generated by the superseded Subject Outline Management System (SOMS).
Edit screen navigation tools
Expand All / Collapse All
Expands or collapses all groupings of information. Upon entering the Edit screen it will be defaulted to 'Collapse All' with the exception of the expanded ‘Subject Summary’ grouping. Note that students will navigate the Outline in the same manner - however students will not be able to collapse the Subject Summary.
Manage Assessment
Opens (in a new window) the component of the Subject Outline tool where assessment items can be created, edited or deleted. See Edit assessment items to learn more about the Manage Assessment tool.
Access Online Subject Outlines
This button initiates a search of the online Subject Outlines which were generated by the Subject Outline Management System (SOMS). SOMS was superseded by the Subject Outlines tool. The auto-search will be based on the subject code of the Outline from which the user initiated the auto-search. Search parameters can then be adjusted by the user as per normal Search functionality. The search will occur in a new window to assist copy/paste of content between windows.
In the example below, the user initiated the search while editing an Outline for COM108.
