Why was the Subject Outlines tool was created?
The Subject Outlines tool was created to achieve the following objectives:

integrate Subject Outlines into CSU Interact. |
Compliance |
all Subject Outlines must comply with Academic Senate Regulations. |
Accessibility |
the University has an obligation to ensure that all students have access to mandatory subject information. |
Consistency |
a uniform approach to authoring and inputtin of subject information by academics for both Internal and DE offerings and the output to students. |
Usability |
improvement to processes (including print friendly facilities for Subject Outlines). |
Visibility |
ensuring information is prominently displayed to students to ensure it is read. |
How the Subject Outlines tool was created?
The Subject Outlines tool was created by:
| ▪ | translating the information required by the Academic Manual (L6.3) into a template; and |
| ▪ | building functionality into the tool to enable and support the Outline development process. |
Once Subject Outlines are created within this development tool within the My Workspace area of CSU Interact, they are published within the 'new look' delivery tool within subject sites, i.e. the 'Subject Outline' tool.
What are the main components of the Subject Outlines tool?
There are 3 main components of the Subject Outlines tool - they are:
My Outlines |
the area from which Authors create, edit, view, search and manage Outlines. |
Outline QA |
the area from which Quality Assurance Officers (QAOs) manage the QA of Outlines. |
Search |
the area where Authors, QAOs and all CSU staff can search for Outlines created within the tool for their purposes/processes. |
