Yes

Yes - if Banner indicates

there is a Residential School

This section can display to all Authors regardless of the Banner indicator.  However, this is a cohort variation section so the Banner indicator determines whether the mandatory icon appears and the Compliance Check will determine whether it can/can't be null.

If Banner indicates that there is no Residential School for the subject then this section should be left blank as it will be removed from the final Outline. If there is no Residential School but content has been entered into this section, the system will remove the content/section from the 'delivered' version of the Outline.

If Banner indicates that there is a compulsory or optional Residential School for the subject, details of the Residential School Program information must be provided here. Academic Senate regulations relating to Subject Outlines (Academic Manual L6.3 - section 1.3.4 Residential School Information) state:

For subjects offered by distance education, the subject outline shall specify:

 a)        whether or not there is a residential school

 and, where there is a residential school:

 b)        if the residential school is compulsory or optional;

 c)        the duration and location of the residential school;

 d)        a statement of the purpose of the residential school and a summary program of activities.

Maintenance of Residential School settings

As normal, the Residential School code is maintained by Student Services.  If while authoring an Outline, it is noted that the residential school ‘Autotext’ does not accurately reflect the existence of a Residential School, the Student Services Officer should be contacted by phone (02) 6338 4275 [ext. 84 275] or email lstacker@csu.edu.au. In the event that the Student Services Officer is not available, the Student Services Administration, Contact & Services Manager can be contacted on (02) 6338 6981 [ext. 86 981] to assist coordination of the amendment. Once the data has been updated, the ‘Data Refresh’ function must be utilised to update the Autotext and rules for this section.

Voluntary Workshops

The Banner Residential School code relates to a Residential School only - not a workshop.  If a workshop exists for the subject it must be described elsewhere in the Subject Outline.

This is a cohort specific section

If an Outline has been created for multiple cohorts, the 'Change Offering' button must be utilised to enable the authoring of hand delivery submission procedures for each cohort who will receive the Outline.  If the section is a cohort specific section and the Outline has been created for multiple offerings, the section header will be annotated with red text indicating "Changing this section will affect the current offering only." To learn more see Editing an Outline for multiple offerings.
