Authors may reuse an assessment item from another Outline. Assessment items can also be reused within an Outline to reduce the need to re-input informational and procedural content contained within the Marking Criteria and Presentation sections of an assignment item, e.g. assessment matrices, format/layout requirements for essays, etc.
To initiate a search for a reusable assessment item:
| 1) | click the Reuse Assessment button within the Manage Assessment screen. |

| 2) | Within the Search pop-up box, input at least one (1) search parameter and click the Search button. Note that the search parameters for assessment items include assessment type (assignment or exam) and assessment title. |
| a. | See Working Title to learn about applying a custom name to the Outline during the draft phase to enhance retrieval. |
| b. | See Section Tags to learn about using tags to enhance retrieval. |

| 3) | If successful, a results list will display. Outline names listed in grey text are not available for reuse. To learn more about the availability of content for reuse see Reuse Outline content. |

| 4) | Click on a result to expand a preview of the assessment item. Preview assessments from the results list until the desired assessment is found. A 'New Search' can also be initiated by clicking the button in the top left-hand corner. |

| 5) | To reuse the displayed assessment, click the 'Use This Content' button at the foot of the preview panel. |
| 6) | The selected assessment item will then be opened within the assessment item form where the content can be edited as desired. |
| 7) | Click 'Save' at the foot of the form to permanently save the assessment to the Outline. |
IMPORTANT The 'Save' button within the 'Add Assignment/Exam' screen must be clicked for assessment item content to permanently save and update the Manage Assessment screen, the Outline body and Assessment Summary table. Clicking 'OK' on an individual editor for each section of the assessment item will not permanently save the content - you must click 'OK' then 'Save' to permanently save the content.
