Enhancing learning and study skills
Study and learning assistance is offered to all students across CSU.
Students have access to various systems and services to help them develop the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve success in their study. Professional support staff including Academic Skills Advisors and Librarians are available to help students develop skills such as assignment preparation, researching effectively, time management, critical thinking, and avoiding plagiarism.
Student Services provide workshop tutorials, drop-in sessions, study centres, and individual consultations, during which students are presented with strategies and techniques that will allow them to better participate in academic activities. Students may also take advantage of study skills online tutorials .
Learning Skills specialist staff are available for maths and statistics, for English language, and for supporting Indigenous students.
Student Counsellors offer confidential and professional assistance to students experiencing a range of academic and personal concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, stress, depression, motivational problems and relationship difficulties, all of which can impede a student’s ability to study effectively.
CSU library provides a range of tutorials, including an online library skills tutorial and a number of instructional and informative videos.
